Image # 7035 Portrait of a Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep. I photographed this female Bighorn while she was grazing in Custer State Park in South Dakota. Bighorn Sheep are known for their breeding contests. Males rear up on their hind legs, charge toward each other, and crash their huge horns together with a loud crack. Diseases of domestic sheep are affecting some Bighorn populations.
