Curious Mona Monkey adult male looking over shoulder These polygamous, fruit-eating monkeys reside in the forests of several African countries, including the Cameroon, Ghana, Guinea, the Ivory Coast, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Uganda. Because they can forage in a variety of different forest types, they are less at danger of extinction than many other primate species. A population of Mona monkeys has also been introduced on the Caribbean island of Grenada. This monkey is a captive
residing at the Atlanta Zoo.
